overcoming fear (with guest Dr Amy Silver)
Season 3, Ep. 8
•
Dr Amy Silver is a psychologist, speaker and author on the management of our emotions for high performance and wellbeing. She has spent three decades as a psychologist developing IP on how fear restricts us and safety expands us. Fear often comes into play when we want to take big (or even little) steps in our career, so in this episode Dr Silver joins Shell and Em to chat about how to take control of fear instead of letting it control us. Their conversation touches on:
👉how to respond when we notice ourselves feeling afraid to do something such as resigning from a toxic workplace, pursuing a promotion or pay rise or speaking up in a meeting
👉🏿tools that can help us process and better understanding our personal relationship with fear
👉🏽a concept which Dr Silver unpacks in her book called FATs (fear automatic thoughts)
👉🏻the other ‘guests’ or voices in our head that are helpful in shifting our perspective and feelings
