  • 4. Ep 4: George Floyd

    29:52
On 25th March 2020 during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Police were called to the Cup Foods Convivence store at 3759 Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis at around 8pm. A man fitting the description of George Floyd has apparently paid for some cigarettes with a fake $20 dollar bill. Police were directed to the car that Mr Floyd was sat in and subsequently handcuffed and arrested him. Things would take a highly unnecessary turn when Officer Derek Chauvin (now former officer) entered the frame and proceed to man handle George Floyd to the ground and place his knee into the back of his neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds. George Floyd would shortly after be pronounced dead. This horrific use of Police Brutality would be seen around the world through the general publics videos taken on their phones and the Police Axon body cams. This would cause worldwide protest and also unity between people.George Floyd died for no reason and would more than likely still be alive today if it wasn't for the inhumane way that he was treated by the Minneapolis Police force. We take a look at what happened, why it happened and the reasons it shouldn't have happened.Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 22 and half years in prison for the murder of George Floyd.Funds can be raised for George Floyds family at the below link.https://gofund.me/47ffdd27**Music Courtesy of Slip Stream****Song- Lost Causes**https://slip.stream/tracks/e9694301-ca75-4d37-a69f-cae399efeee1
