19. #19 - IT’S MARATHON SEASON! - ft. TOP LONDON MARATHON TIPS, fuel, boob chafing, + Newport & Chicago loading…!
31:54||Season 2, Ep. 19IT'S SPRING MARATHON SEASON and we're excited! A mix of some of our top tips given our hilariously professionally locked in but super super average mum runner performances - as always, we're average runners with above average enthusiam! - so here are all the top tips you need to know to run your first London Marathon (or other marathon!)Grab a cuppa and have a little chatty catch up with us - we've got some interesting bits and pieces on with Becky in the London training trenches but also with Chicago Marathon in the diary for October. Bri may or may not make Newport Marathon this year, but either way we're going to nerd out about running and embarrass ourselves so come join us!If you're worried about fuelling, don't be - this episode and our Sîan Sec one from Season 1 will get you completely ready to go.We also have a little chat about running on social media and how things always need to be bigger and bigger and the power of actually tuning out and recognising the achievement of running a 10k, a half, a marathon, whatever it is - it doesn't always need to be 50 ultras in 5 weeks or whatever instagram is feeding us!A little bit of chat around some of our personal running quirks too - like Briony's weird laps habit, 18 mile track runs and 30 mile lap ultras... maybe that one was a mistake.FOLLOW THE POD @morethanrunnerpodFOLLOW US:Becky's instagram: @marathon_mum25Briony's instagram: @brionywritesPS. Proud of us for managing to record this at a soft play with minimal interruptions from our youngests!
18. #18 - THE ONE WITH THE ULTRAS WE SAID WE’D NEVER DO - Race to the Stones & South West Coast 50k + top tips
31:33||Season 2, Ep. 18It's taken us a while to get this up, but in the summer we both tackled our first ultras... and there's SO MUCH to chat about! We debrief the ultras - Becky tackled Race to the Stones 50k on an OUTRAGEOUSLY hot day, and Bri got to do the beautiful South West Coast 50k. Neither of us actually trained because... well, life, and we were coming off the back of the longest ever marathon block (since, Bri has also done a solo 30 miler doing laps of Greenwich park... a very different experience for another day!)There's so much to say about ultras, and for 2 road runners to say we'd never do it and then end up loving it... come grab a coffee and unpack it with us!FOLLOW THE POD @morethanrunnerpodFOLLOW US:Becky's instagram: @marathon_mum25Briony's instagram: @brionywrites
17. #17 - Finally... WE'RE BACK!
03:29||Season 2, Ep. 17We have missed catching you all - being so locked in for our 2025 London Marathon training, we had some much needed down time and also unfortunately quite a bit of life lifeing in the interim so we dropped the ball with the pod. We're back now, with this little apology and explanation for our absence and TWO brand new series 2 episodes dropping soon with hopefully some more exciting ones to come!

14. #14 - LONDON MARATHON 2025: NO-ONE LIKES A QUICK FINISHER!
58:15||Season 1, Ep. 14Join us as we give our full and frank, real and raw debrief of our experiences of London Marathon 2025! (Episode title from one of the funniest signs we spotted!)*PLEASE NOTE* we made a mistake chatting and Becky said she finished in 5:51... she actually finished an hour earlier than that in 4:51! Our chip times were - Becky: 4:51:43, Briony: 4:24:48 and we both ran 26.7ish miles. We cover EVERYTHING - how we felt, all the feels, crossing the finish line, what went right and wrong, highs and lows, chafing in weird and wonderful places, strava vs chip times, water station carnage, learnings and points we'll note for the future...But honestly guys, there are NO WORDS for the magic and electricity of those London crowds. London, you really came through.A marathon neither of us will ever forget!A massive congratulations to everyone who ran at the weekend, be it London or Manchester - WELL DONE! It was tough out there.FOLLOW THE POD @morethanrunnerpodFOLLOW US:Becky's instagram: @marathon_mum25Briony's instagram: @brionywrites

#12 - STAY SAFE FOR LONDON MARATHON HEATWAVE with Dr Grace + her personal DNF story
32:13|With London and Manchester marathons set to be heating up (20-23 temperatures forecast!) this could not be a more timely episode!Grace is a mum of 2, soon to be 3, a doctor and a runner... and she shares her personal story of collapsing in the Docklands during her London Marathon back in 2016, what happened to her, what went wrong, what to avoid doing... and lessons learned. She also really helpfully talks about coping in the aftermath and how it felt huge and devastating but now does not matter AT ALL, and brings an important perspective to putting health, happiness and just simply having a good time first. If you're running in the heat this weekend:BE CAREFUL not to vaseline over key areas you lose body heat from and sweat from as this can affect your core temperatureHYDRATE! Drink to thirst, don't be afraid to use hydration stations, perhaps carry a bit extra, take extra gels and/or fuel of choice incase you're on the course for longer than plannedTake electrolytes with youDress appropriately for the weatherAnd remember... put yourself and your health before a marathon time. You've got this! It's going to be an INCREDIBLE day!FOLLOW THE POD @morethanrunnerpodFOLLOW US:Becky's instagram: @marathon_mum25Briony's instagram: @brionywrites
