014: 4 Ways To Teach Your Kids About DIVERSITY And Its BEAUTY #BlackLivesMatter
"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite"-Nelson Mandela. This is a raw, unedited episode. I need to address the fact that we are living a critical moment in history right now. One that requires us to do more on a personal and collective level...CHANGE STARTS AT HOME. LOVE CAN BE TAUGHT.What can we do at home, in our families, with our children, to teach them about diversity..in a positive light? What can we do to teach that people are different? AND THAT IT'S OKAY! AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL!Growing up in a multicultural environment, I learned to embrace other cultures, colors, races and religions. If more people get educated on and teach the beauty of diversity, we can make the world a better place. What is going on right now is not only heartbreaking, it is disappointing and inhuman. I still cannot believe it and I think it's important to address it to educate others in order to implement change. In this episode, I talk about 4 (easy) ways (out of hundreds) we can teach the beauty of diversity to our kids which can result in them not becoming racist....which can help them fight racism and to help eliminate it.... From cultural activities to travels, I discuss a few ideas. I am not a psychologist or therapist or coach or a "know it all"...this is simply coming from my HEART and my experience and what I've seen other people do. Eva has a friend named Avery, who is white, and Avery tells everyone Eva is her sister. This shows me that her parents, Johnny and Sabrina, did an amazing job of teaching Avery about diversity because although they look completely different, Avery sees beyond that!A lot of cursing in that episode. It is what it is!#BlackLivesMatterOur voices and actions add up if we stand side by side. So let's stand in solidarity with the fight against systemic racism, police brutality and the oppression of the Black Community.Click HERE for ways to help.

Season 2, Ep. 12
What do you do when you are having a difficult day or week? Do you unconsciously self-sabotage like me? I am the first to admit I do it more than I should. 🙃 😭Whether we realize it or not, we often end up doing things that sabotage our lives, relationships, career and more. In this super quick solo episode, I talk about 3 ways to not self-sabotage. I have had a difficult week and these things have helped a lot and continue to help even when things are going better. This is a random, solo, quick and unplanned episode that can bring you a lot of value. 12 is my lucky number (I was born on 12/12 and my favorite Bible verse is Romans 12) this is the 12th episode and although I'm not that superstitious, it's still meaningful to me and it was important to do a solo episode.A few things I talk about:-The importance of positive talk and gratitude-Self care v.s. self indulgence and not feeling GUILTY-The acceptance of constructive criticismThe Lewis Howes episode reference is called "Change Your Mind To Attract Love, Abundance and Wealth with Marisa Pier" and you can listen to it here.
