#178 Nike Shares Fall, Flu Camp & Are You Prepped for a National Emergency?
Welcome back!
It’s September, it’s time to lock in for the last part of the year, and so naturally Adrienne, Oli & Sammi are back for a new season of the Modern Wellness Podcast… Season 8!
But the good news stops there. We start the series looking at the latest government announcements, advising the nation to get prepped for an emergency.
How would you prepare for an emergency? How would you cope? And what about your relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues?
These are the questions the government wants people to ask themselves, as emergency planners warn of growing threats from heatwaves and flooding, as well as potential cyber attacks by hostile states that could cripple vital energy infrastructure. And from a wellness perspective - how much have you thought about this? Are you stocked up? Have you tried a trial run? And do you have a well?
Next up, we look at the dramatic financial news that Nike exited the S&P 100 Index on September 21, 2026, ending an 18-year run due to a dramatic drop in market capitalisation. But what really has happened to get the company to this stage? What does thew market look like now? And what should Nike do next?
And finally, in trending we’re talking about Flu Camp. Getting paid (thousands of pounds) to take time off work sure sounds good, and ten days alone was certainly tempting during the school holidays but what do our hosts make of it?

The rise of the “wellness date” reflects a deeper redefinition of modern romance. As dating app fatigue sets in, an entire generation is craving more honest interactions—and a shared breathwork class, a yoga session, or a guided meditation for two often reveals far more than an hour of polite conversation over drinks.Next up… tap water. It’s a controversial topic in the wellness industry. Are you happy to plug straight from the tap or are you firmly filtered? The team dig in to the stats to uncover what really is going on, and should we really be worried about how much water we’re drinking rather than the quality of the water itself?
