Modern Horror: A Movie Podcast

The Odyssey

Ep. 70
•

We bid you welcome to the MODERN HORROR PODCAST.

Hosted by authors A. J. Black and Hugh McStay, Modern Horror focuses on horror cinema from 2010 onwards, examining the best, worst, biggest and most obscure horror pictures from around the world.

This week you might think we've gone mad because we're not talking about a horror movie, rather Christopher Nolan's epic 2026 telling of Homer's The Odyssey.

So what's going on? Well, we're pretty convinced that Nolan's infused his story of Odysseus returning from the Trojan War with some absolute nightmare fuel, from Lovecraftian monsters to terrifying witches and giant metal-clad warriors. It's a movie with horror elements so we dial into those areas, as well as wonder what a Nolan horror film, proper, could one day look like...
