Stress and Skin with Dr Ellen Vora

Season 3

Today I am delighted to be joined by one of my favorite speakers in the mental health world, Dr Ellen Vora. Dr Ellen is a board certified psychiatrist, acupuncturist, yoga teacher and author of the book, The Anatomy of Anxiety.

She takes a functional medicine approach to mental health and works to uncover the root of the problem. We all know that life these days is full of anxiety, whether it’s feeling pressured at work or because of our under exposure to sunlight. In today’s episode, I want to uncover the science behind stress, understand what factors influence our stress levels, the skin stress connection and ultimately how we can all begin to have a better relationship with anxiety.

  • Stress and Dancing with Kristin Sudeikis

    24:58
In today's show, we are talking about how dancing can lift our mood, reduce our stress levels and improve our skin. So whether you are a dancing queen at weddings or if you daily dance around your kitchen, I wanted to explore the benefits of dancing, and I was so excited to speak with Kristin Sudeikis, who is an artistic director, choreographer, master teacher, dancer, producer and the founder of the epic Forward Space Dance Studio in New York City. Kristin's work has reached thousands around the globe, and she has proved how powerful dance can be, both for the mind, body and skin. The physical movements of dance have been shown to reduce levels of stress, anxiety and depression. Much like aerobic exercise, dance provides relief from stress and tension. So today I am speaking to Kristen about this amazing physical exercise which elevates our dopamine and endorphins to neurotransmitters responsible for feelings of pleasure and happiness, and why we should all be incorporating dance into our schedules every day. Links: Website: http://www.kristinsudeikis.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kristinsudeikisdance/ Discover your own skin wellness ritual at ernolaszlo.com. • Skin and Topical Disorders with Gina Mari

    19:56
On today’s episode we are diving into the science and truth behind topical skin disorder. In this episode I'm speaking to Gina Marí who is a skincare expert with a unique approach to skin renewal and preservation. At the forefront of the ever-growing and evolving world of skincare, science and technology, she was named “Top Celebrity Facialist in Los Angeles” by Allure Magazine and specializes in leaving her clients with radiant, flawless and healthy skin.  Topical skin disorders have a huge psychological effect on the person experiencing them and psychological factors can often influence the severity of the disorder. This delicate connection affects many people and studies have shown that rosacea affects 16 million Americans and 85 percent of people between the ages of 12 and 24 experience at least minor acne. Given the growing problem and arguably significant lack of awareness and conversation about this, I am honoured to be speaking to Gina Mari to find out how we should be approaching our topical skin disorders in a more mindful way.Find more information on Gina Mari: Website: https://www.ginamari.com/ Instagram: @ginamariskincareDiscover your own skin wellness ritual at ernolaszlo.com.
