UFC 318: Poirier vs Holloway Review

UFC 318 was a hit. Not because it was a parade of great fights or the deepest of MMA Secrets were unearthed but because this is the perfect retirement fight for Dustin Poirier.


The fight was Poirier being not his prime self but still damn good. It was Max Holloway getting his redemption of a sort. Both men handled it with class. And the UFC did very little to ruin it. Could have done without the BMF belt, that's my only change.


The rest of the card was plenty violent and action packed with ample finishes so it served as a solid appetizers for the Main Course.

    Another Apex show is in the back window and honestly the aftermath is a bit more interesting than the card. The card was fun mind you, good action, some insightful fights but also some frustration. I don't cover the roster moves in the audio but Jailton Almedia and Javid Basharat seemed to no longer be on the UFC roster. Javid is particularly a weird cut.Also I do mess up saying Yan when I mean Joshua Van.
