MPP100 Thomas Moore: Jesus & the Soul of the Gospels
On this episode I’m honoured to welcome back to the podcast author and psychotherapist Thomas Moore, who I previously had on episodes 57 and 75.
Tom has been a constant companion on my own medicine path, and one of the key inspirations and mentors for my approach to counseling others on their journey toward living a life of deeper meaning and purpose.
I’ve had the privilege to study with Tom over the past year in his Soul Psychology course, and through that process have gotten to know him, and myself, a little better.
To round off the series of interviews I’ve been conducting as part of an exploration of my relationship to Christianity, I thought it would be fitting to speak to Tom about his journey with Christianity, particularly how the teachings and model of Jesus have informed his soulful approach to life.
We focus our conversation primarily on his 2009 book Writing in the Sand: Jesus & the Soul of the Gospels, which offers his unique insights into the deeper meanings of Jesus’ teachings and how they can help us create a happier and more meaningful life, free of dogma and fundamentalism.
I hope you are nourished by our chat as much as I was.
