May The Panel Be With You

This week we cover a sequel issue to Star Wars Annual #3, so if you're unfamiliar with that issue, maybe go get a refresher on our 100th episode! Because, yeah, this issue is a direct sequel to that one for reasons we cannot explain!

Welcome to Kashyyyk, a world of Wookies! The Empire may be "gone" but somehow these big hairy guys are still getting worked over. What gives?

Everyone is felling conflicted this issue! Leia is torn between soldier and diplomat. Luke is afraid of teaching. Rik Duel is trying really hard to not be a dirt bag... okay, maybe not that hard. Meanwhile Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar are trying to decide if these kids have what it takes to lead the newly minted Alliance of Free Systems.

This one is a weird one, so strap in folks. The legendary Ann Nocenti and Bret Blevins take the creative reigns in this issue and so we get Luke Skywalker, kids with a bad case of grownup face and morality tales about the nature of conflict.

We're starting to think the Empire isn't quite as defeated as all those dancing ewoks would have had us believe. Leia embarks on a diplomatic mission, only to discover some rats are still scurrying around in the walls of the galaxy at large. Also a new villain makes her debut!

I hope you weren't sick of Rik Duel, Dani and Chihdo, everyone's favorite z-list scumbags, because they're riding shotgun with Luke for now, along with a psychic rabbit-thing and a samurai fish-guy. Anyway, this gang of weirdos needs to diffuse a galaxy destroying super weapon. Classic!

Oh no, we have to acknowledge the Holiday Special... Yeah, we're headed to Kashyyyk and Lumpy is now recognized as Chewbacca's son.

Okay, so in this issue a character played by Harrison Ford uncovers an ancient artifact that is being threatened by the remnants of an overthrown fascist regime. I can understand why you might be confused about which franchise we're reading a comic book of.
