On episode 60, I had fellow astrologer and friend Bear Ryver on the show to philosophize about reincarnation. I really enjoyed this conversation and the sense of timelessness and reverie that it opened up - from discussing reincarnation, meeting people again in this life we’ve met before, spiritual transformations that emerge from romantic and erotic longing, dreaming - and astrology. We traveled to some places so it’s a two part episode! Part one of this episode (this one) focuses on reincarnation through the lens of Venus and Mars, and catch us on part two next for our thoughts on reincarnation through the lens of the outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.


Bear Ryver is an Intersectional Astrologer and Reiki Master, winner of the Organization for Professional Astrology’s Most Promising Astrologer Scholarship 2018. He offers private consultations internationally, including his signature Astrohealing Sessions, through his practice Psyche & Soul Astrology. With a background in anti-oppression activism and organizing, his astrological research integrates Mundane, Evolutionary, Modern, and Traditional schools of thought and explores the intersections of power, privilege, and politics as seen in the chart. His mission is to help his clients remain grounded and empowered while they accelerate their growth.

    In this episode I’m joined again by Maeg Keane to talk about the 11th house — Maeg is an astrologer who I really admire, I find them deeply inventive. Astrology is, or it can be, very animistic - where the planets, signs, and all of their correspondences - plants, myths, stones, etc - are alive and sentient and we can talk with them. Maeg, I feel, is continually having unique and inspired conversations with *the beings* and then bringing something scintillating back to instagram or substack or 1:1 readings, coming from a foundation of technical skill in astrology but always with these added dimensions of magic and connection from their own process. The 11th house is about ideals, hopes, dreams, and wishes, social networks, friends - to start. It was known in ancient astrology as the house of “good spirit”. In Evolutionary Astrology, the 11th house includes these associations with networks, friends, community, but also relates to trauma or trauma signatures. In our conversation here we unpack the 11th house and especially explore how it corresponds with 5th house topics like creativity, play, and romance, but in a more diffused or decentralized way.We spoke last on this podcast about the opposite house, the 5th house, a few years ago — and it was up there as a beloved episode on this podcast.
