D. J. Pickett, LSUs freshman cornerback, has been named to the SEC Coaches Freshman All-SEC team. He had an outstanding first season, earning two starts and contributing with thirty tackles, five pass deflections, three interceptions, two pass breakups, and two sacks. Pickett, a highly touted five-star recruit, posted a 79.3 defensive grade, the best among qualified true freshman cornerbacks, and allowed an NFL passer rating of just 38.8.
