Prep: Bake and cool your pie crust.2. Combine: In a saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cocoa powder.3. Heat: Gradually whisk in the milk and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and bubbles (about 5-10 minutes).4. Finish Filling: Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla until melted and smooth.5. Cool: Pour the filling into the crust. Place plastic wrap directly on the surface to prevent a skin from forming. Refrigerate until chilled and firm.6.
