The Pentecast: Day 18 - Lizzie Redman

Season 4, Ep. 18

It’s day 18 of our daily Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today’s guest is Lizzie Redman, joining Tim Matthews for a fresh look at two often-overlooked books in the Old Testament: Ezra and Nehemiah.

These books tell the story of Israel's return from exile. With Jerusalem in ruins, the people begin to rebuild — not with bricks first, but with worship. Ezra leads the charge, restoring the altar and putting God at the centre. Lizzie and Tim reflect on the importance of that order: when we prioritise God's presence and commit to prayer, everything else flows from that. It’s a simple but profound reminder that a healthy life, like a healthy city, starts by building the altar first. Nehemiah later follows with bold leadership and persistent prayer, showing us that restoration is possible — but not without determination and faith.

Their prayer today is a call to stay committed — to keep praying, keep prioritising, and keep putting God first, even when the answers don’t come quickly. It all starts with worship. See you tomorrow for Day 19!

    32:30||Season 5, Ep. 3
    On the Podcast this week we listen back to last Sunday 18th January with Tim Matthews, as he continues to explore the vision for 2026. He reminded us not to miss opportunities to introduce someone to Jesus, and to be courageous and bold, not timid, in our faith. As 1 Peter 3:15 says, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” Let’s take that to heart as we live out our faith in everyday life.
