LOVECHURCH - The Podcast
The Pentecast: Day 14 - Debi Matthews
It’s day 14 of our daily Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today’s guest is Debi Matthews, back with Tim to tackle the life and legacy of Solomon — the wisest man who ever lived, and one of the Bible’s most complex figures.
They’re digging into 1 Kings 4–11, which captures Solomon’s rise as a wise and wealthy king who builds the temple and pens the Proverbs and Song of Songs. But, as Tim and Debi point out, wisdom in words doesn’t always equal wisdom in life. Solomon’s downfall is striking — despite all his insight, he strays, distracted by wealth, women, and compromise. Debi brings a thoughtful challenge: it’s not just about knowing good things — we’re called to live them out. That includes how we view our bodies, relationships, and sexuality. In a refreshingly honest take, they remind us that God created sex — it’s good and holy, but must be handled with wisdom and care.
Their prayer asks for that very wisdom — not just for our heads, but for our hearts and choices too. As Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” Let’s not just speak wisdom — let’s live it. See you tomorrow for Day 15!

32:30||Season 5, Ep. 3On the Podcast this week we listen back to last Sunday 18th January with Tim Matthews, as he continues to explore the vision for 2026. He reminded us not to miss opportunities to introduce someone to Jesus, and to be courageous and bold, not timid, in our faith. As 1 Peter 3:15 says, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” Let’s take that to heart as we live out our faith in everyday life.

Festus begins by recapping our journey so far through the book of Hebrews, and how all the previous sermons add to a life of unshakeable living. One that is firm, rooted, and not shaken by storms. He further elaborates by suggesting the main anchor for this kind of life is love, something that could be seen as foolish but is ultimately sacrificial.
