Season 5, Ep. 12

We’re wrapping up Women’s History Month with Shelley LaRose-Arken, Aviation Commissioner for Long Island MacArthur Airport, filling in for Sharon this week! Shelley shares exciting updates about our favorite home airport, what not to do on a plane, and the exciting developments in store for travelers flying in and out of Long Island. Plus, we highlight some incredible spots on Long Island that feel just like Europe—proving you can explore the world without ever leaving your backyard!

#LongIslandLife

New flights from Long Island MacArthur Airport to Iceland will begin on May 25, 2025

This service, offered through a partnership between Southwest Airlines and Icelandair, will provide passengers with a convenient connection to Reykjavik (KEF) via a stopover in Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).

This expansion opens up new travel opportunities for Long Island residents looking to visit Iceland and other European destinations served by Icelandair.

These developments underscore Long Island MacArthur Airport's commitment to enhancing travel options and connectivity for the region.
