Parents in Meath Encouraged to Have Their Say on Hot School Meals Programme – 08/01/2026

A survey on the Hot School Meals Programme in Meath has now been launched by Fine Gael, which will ensure children continue to get the most nutritious and highest-quality meals possible.
Senator Linda Nelson Murray said, “Fine Gael introduced the Hot School Meals Programme in Meath because we believe no child should be held back by hunger. This next phase is about refining and improving the programme so it continues to support children’s health and education.”
The survey will give parents, guardians, teachers and meal providers a direct opportunity to shape the next stage of the scheme. The online survy launched today and is asking all parents and teachers to participate in the online survey to ensure the next stage of hot school meals is even more successful.
The survey will also look at issues such as food waste, the suitability of centrally cooked meals versus on-site preparation, and whether parents feel the current menus accommodate allergies or plain eating habits. Participants will also be invited to offer suggestions for improving the programme.

05:06|Concerns have been raised over how a quarter of driver disqualifications and almost half of all penalty points imposed on motorists by courts are going unrecorded on a national database of driving licences.Fine Gael Dublin West TD Emer Currie said a failure to record the driving licence number of offending motorists who appear in court is “unacceptable”, adding that it erodes public confidence in road safety enforcement.Deputy Currie has submitted a series of queries to the Department seeking clarity on the accuracy of the NVDF.In response, the Minister has committed to a full review of the matching process and to publishing more complete data. 04:53|The long-promised upgrade of Drogheda Bus Station is not likely to begin soon, with the National Transport Authority (NTA) confirming that it does not currently envisage any accessibility works proceeding this year and stating that responsibility for major improvements rests with Bus Éireann.The update was provided to Labour TD Ged Nash following a query made in December.In its response, the NTA said that upgrades to Drogheda Bus Station fall outside the remit of its Public Transport Infrastructure Capital Grant scheme, as Drogheda is not located within the Greater Dublin Area.
