On Your Council Day we took Late Lunch to the headquarters of Meath County Council in Navan where we found out lots of aspects to the council that may not be apparent to many. The impact of library services, support for community developments and assisting businesses develop & grow. We also met new CEO Kieran Kehoe and recently elected Cathaoirleach Sharon Tolan.

    Out and about again today this time on the Hill of Tara at Maguires beautiful restaurant, coffee and craft shop, where we were hosted by Louise Maguire, who told us all about the history of the business, her love of what she does and this very special place. Michael Slavin, who runs his antiquarian bookshop and Courtney Davis, who has an art studio next door, both joined us for really insightful conversations. Tour guide Margaret Brady also loves her job and has deep feelings for the Hill, as does former Meath footballer Niall Keane, who turned to Tara as he undertook his cancer journey.

    August 15th is the day people flock to Blackrock village, as the sun emerged the hoards descended and Late Lunch was there in the beautiful Village Garden Coffee Shop to catch a taste of the goings on! We heard from; our hostess and proprietor Elaine Cosgrove, PRO of Blackrock.ie Jason McGee, Conor Hughes of Beat It Music Shop and Cross Cause Charity fame, Killian Allen who brings his carnival to the village each summer, Maureen Hoey the woman behind Mojo & Co and publican & chairman of the Blackrock Social Group Kevin Soraghan and his daughter Anna.

    We enjoyed a magical opening to the show in the company of the wonderful Cillian O'Connor and his mum Elaine. With back to school time imminent, Siobhan O'Neill-White from mams.ie, offered some great advice and did some straight talking about the costs involved for hard pressed families. Dip in the Nip 2024 is happening in early September, as we heard from Karen Healy, Liz Summersby, Carol McGinty and Laura Carolan ahead of the big splash for cancer care and research in the Northeast. And we have an Olympian in the making for Los Angeles 2028 in the guise of our very own Sinead Burke!!
