John Bolton

JB cashed in his superannuation and founded Squirrel in 2008 at the height of the GFC. He is a former General Manager at ANZ bank where he was responsible for the bank’s $60 billion of retail lending and deposits. He has 10 years of senior banking experience behind him in financial markets, treasury, finance, and strategy. JB has bought, sold, traded and developed property around Auckland and has the scars to prove it. When not embarking on one of his many ventures, JB can be found skiing dangerously or eating sashimi.

David Cunningham

Now Chief Squirrel, David holds more than three decades of experience across New Zealand’s banking and wider financial services sector, including world-class results at the executive level within leading financial institutions. David’s areas of expertise span from finance to marketing, and risk management to sustainability, with one thing in common – leading high performing teams. Outside work, David can be found cycling his way around the world. His favourite food is the humble yet delightful Percy Pig lollies from Marks & Spencer in the UK.
