09:10|A local campaigner who secured an apology from University Hospital Limerick over his late father’s care has been writing about his experience.Mike Daly in Limerick City made history by successfully securing a second inquest into the passing of his father, Mike Daly Snr. The initial 2012 inquest ruled the death as natural causes due to cardiac failure, but a groundbreaking fresh inquiry was ordered and heard in 2023, and a verdict of medical misadventure was recorded. Following High Court action against the HSE in 2024, UHL issued a formal letter to Mr Daly’s widow, Mary, admitting liability and apologising unreservedly for the "hurt, stress, and upset caused”Mike joined the programme.Image via Getty.
