The new personal investment accounts are expected to launch early next year, allowing people to invest in things like shares, bonds and investment funds, with a tax-free threshold and no minimum contribution or lock-in period. On Sunday 5th September 1926, in Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick, 48 men, women and children lost their lives when fire swept through the upstairs loft that served as a temporary cinema. Now, one hundred years later, there is a state commemoration, and the community of Dromcollogher is marking this tragedy with a programme of commemorative events.
