Explaining the Rules of Sentencing

In February, in the wake of controversies surrounding the sentencing of former solder Cathal Crotty for the assault of Limerick woman Natasha O’Brien and Kieran Fogarty in connection with the death of UL student Joe Drennan, Live95’s Limerick Today broadcast a feature on the rules of sentencing.
UL Professor of Law Paul McCutcheon spoke to Live95's Gillian Devlin about the various critieria judges must consider when handing down sentences.
The feature received a Certificate of Merit at the Justice Media Awards, run by The Law Society of Ireland on June 25th.
