Learning to See

A Time for Every Season (part 1 of 2)

Season 1, Ep. 4

Today I get to introduce you to Sparrow Daenitz (aka Crafty Bird Woman).

After a very difficult and dark season of her life she has found healing and joy again -- and her story isn't over yet!

In part 1, she shares about this "Time to Weep" and how it enabled her to minister to others through art.

"I didn't know I was doing art ministry. I just recognized the deep deep sadness in their eyes and wanted to give them something to look forward to -- something fun!"

She learned it was ministry and recognized herself as an artist for the first time through Jessie Nilo's art group at Vineyard Boise when she moved to Idaho. (God Loves Art, Vineyard Arts, Foundations of Art Ministry course)

Parts may be difficult to hear (see below for time stamps), but her story isn't over. The hard parts of her story have been redeemed and in part 2 we'll get to hear all about her seasons of seeking and dancing!!!

Her story of finding answers, healing and hope can be yours too.❤️

    29:55
Today I’m excited to introduce you to KasSandra Owens, artist, entrepreneur, and student. In today's conversation we talk about her story of transformation, learning to express herself with art and trust God more...even through homelessness. There are several art activities mentioned in this recording and detailed in the write-up available through the "Digging Deeper Together" membership level on Patreon. But we also wanted to share some journaling prompts from KasSandra that will help you shift your focus and renew your mind:Examine our current focus, talk about ways we can shift it to the Lord, creating a transformative approach to bringing the light of the Lord into dark situations, the power of earnest prayer, and a prayer to close the event but open our hearts and spiritual sight to the glory of the Lord.1. How many times do we say/hear, "the devil is busy"? 2. How many times do we say/hear, "God is busy"? 3. Do you tend to focus more on what the enemy is doing than on what God is doing or vice-versa? Why? 4. What can you do to shift your focus from the enemy to your Savior? Or to strengthen your focus on the Savior? 5. How can you actively bring light to the darkness around you? 6. Express your action steps through whatever creative means you're working with today. Consider what it looks like, how it sounds, how it feels, how it'll help people, how the people will feel, etc. 7. Praise and worship the Lord for all the good He'll be doing through you! This activity was created solely by the Holy Spirit and was filtered through me (KasSandra) ...all glory goes to God! 🙌🏾This conversation spilled over into our "Transformational Studio Time" on Patreon and since I can’t resist sharing it with you I created a little video on YouTube. If you'd like to SEE this interview follow this link.If you want to connect more with KasSandra check out these links:InstagramFacebookIf you'd like to learn more about the homeless check out these websites:PADSNational Alliance to End HomelessnessIf you'd like to work with Jen and discover the healing power of art for yourself or those you work with, check out her website Hope and Healing at Home.To get all the bonus content with downloads, links, reflection questions, and detailed art activities, etc., join our membership at Learning to See Studio on Patreon.
