49. The Realm of Shambhala Global Book Launch
01:05:15||Ep. 49We are excited to announce the book launch of Khentrul Rinpoche’s new book – The Realm of Shambhala. As part of the launch Rinpoche will give a talk on his reasons for writing the book and present the true meaning of Shambhala from different aspects.Khentrul Rinpoche provides a thorough explanation of Shambhala that joins practical teachings with a cosmic vision for humanity rooted in ancient prophecy. The Kalachakra Tantra foresees a golden age of love and compassion, when the individual peace attained through Kalachakra practice spreads to humankind as a whole. The Realm of Shambhala lays out a vision for how we can cultivate an unbiased mind, overcome our collective afflictions, and usher in an era of perfect peace and harmony.ORDER A COPYCopies of the book are available for purchase on Shambhala Publications, Amazon.com or wherever books are sold near you.PRAISE FOR THE BOOK“The Realm of Shambhala is a creative discussion of the legendary Buddhist utopia, presenting both the traditional perspective and Shar Khentrul Jamphel Lodrö’s own unique interpretations. The concept of Shambhala as a pure realm on earth, famous as the source of the Kalachakra teachings, is here expanded to include Shambhala as a state of mind that practitioners aspire to bring into experience.”— Cyrus Stearns, author of The Buddha from Dolpo: A Study of the Life and Thought of the Tibetan Master Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen“This book brings to light the little known Jonangpas’ perspectives on Shambhala and on the formation of the Shambhala tradition in Tibet. Khentrul Rinpoche here argues for various, mutually connected planes of Shambhala’s existence that can be experienced at different stages of practice, and he shows how Shambhala can be experienced in this very life. Therefore, this book will be of interest and benefit not only to scholars and students of Tibetan Buddhism but also to practitioners of the Kalachakra Tantra.”—Vesna Wallace, author of The Inner Kālacakratantra: A Buddhist Tantric View of the IndividualABOUT THE AUTHOR KHENTRUL JAMPHEL LODRO RINPOCHEShar Khentrul Jamphel Lodrö Rinpoché spent the first 20 years of his life herding yak and chanting mantras on the plateaus of Tibet. Inspired by the bodhisattvas, he left his family to study in a variety of monasteries under the guidance of over twenty-five masters in all the Tibetan buddhist traditions. Due to his non-sectarian approach, he earned himself the title of Rimé (unbiased) Master and was identified as the reincarnation of the famous Kalachakra Master Ngawang Chözin Gyatso. While at the core of his teachings is the recognition that there is great value in the diversity of all spiritual traditions found in this world; he focuses on the Jonang-Shambhala tradition. Thought to be extinct by many Western scholars, he found it held the most advanced teachings of Kalachakra (wheel of time) containing profound methods to harmonize our external environment with the inner world of body and mind.Since 2014, he has travelled to more than thirty countries guiding students to realize their own sacred truth of limitless potential through a clear, systematic step-by-step presentation of the Kalachakra Path to enlightenment. By teaching people how to cultivate a flexible mind and remove bias, Khentrul Rinpoché aspires to create compassion-based communities, transforming this world into a golden age of global peace and harmony.
