Gabriel Villaruel: Artist, culture and arts advocate

Faced with a lack of opportunity in his island hometown, Gab traveled to Manila to pursue art. Nang maabot na niya ang pangarap niya, bumalik siya at binuo ang AlabArts Festival, a month long celebration of art, upang matupad din ng mga kababayan niya ang kanilang mga pangarap na gumawa ng sining at makapagtanghal.
