In this episode, I discuss the creative doors my philosophy classes have opened me to. I talk about philosophical pieces that have stuck out to me and where I find myself applying them in academic spaces, personal betterment, and relationships.

In this podcast, I touch on consumption culture & materialism. In 2024, I set the intention to be aware of my consumption and work toward becoming less materialistic. My understanding of consumption also goes beyond the material aspect, and I discuss how this is part of a larger conversation about presence, influencer culture, etc. Shoutout my amazing Arabic professor for always leaving me so inspired when I leave his class! This week I talk about how hard taking the time to relax has been for me these first few weeks home. I find that I have implicitly lived with the value that leisure time is unproductive, and even when I am "being still", "taking time for myself", etc. -- it has been wrapped up in something more calculated than it really should be. It has been to achieve this version of myself I picture to be "fulfilled"-- opposed to following my own intuition and taking care of myself and being still because I want to take care of who I am. Something as simple as being still can be hard!
