Makers in Our Midst: Building and Sustaining a Creative Life | Dr. Elissa Yukiko Weichbrodt

Recorded live at Jubilee 2024. This recording is for peer-to-peer sharing only and not for wide distribution.

What does it look like to live as a faithful maker in a world that undervalues artists? If you are a creative person, the pressure to create social media content, the threat of artificial intelligence, and anxiety over financial stability can make it seem like your only choice is to find something "practical" to do with your life. But this workshop argues that we need artists now, more than ever. Drawing lessons from contemporary art, we'll explore tangible steps we can take to pursue a creative life, regardless of our where our paycheck comes from.

  • Oh My Gosh! I'm So OCD!!! | Kris Herman

    01:00:35|
Recorded live at Jubilee 2025. This recording is for peer-to-peer sharing only and not for wide distribution.People say this ALL...THE...TIME!! But, what does it mean? What is OCD really? This breakout session addresses what Obsessive Compulsive Disorder really is as a major mental health struggle, it's variations, and why people struggle with OCD silently for years before getting the help that they need. As a follower of Jesus who is passionate about a biblical worldview, I'll share my own OCD story of silent despair but, even better, my journey of help, hope, and healing. While I cannot diagnose or heal anyone who comes to this session, I hope to give you the tools and the resources that can get you started on your own healing journey.

  • A Distinctively Christian Approach to Engineering | Paul Griffioen

    44:00|
Recorded live at Jubilee 2025. This recording is for peer-to-peer sharing only and not for wide distribution. Workshop Description:Engineering, like many mathematically-related disciplines, is often viewed as a neutral domain. After all, don't both Christians and non-Christians use the same tools and design processes to solve engineering problems? In this session, we will show that engineering is not in fact neutral, even in its mundane technical details. By leveraging the biblical concepts of common grace and antithesis, we will demonstrate how Christ's Lordship over every area of life applies to engineering, particularly as one pursues a career in academia, research, or industry. We will explore how the nature of the tools used in engineering reflect the character of the Triune God, how the knowledge needed to do engineering ultimately depends on implicit trust in the Creator, and how the engineering design process should be guided by norms revealed in Scripture.www.jubileeconference.comInstagram: @livingjubilee
