After Y Speak launched her career in 2003, Bianca has always followed a path of service, where she is able to influence and inspire people to be more critical of what’s happening in the world, and closer to the advocacies that she supports. She believes that her mission is to help people know that they are not alone, whatever they are going through. Interestingly, during this lockdown some of the youth then – who are now young adults – communicated with Bianca through social media expressing their gratitude for YSpeak shaping their thinking and core values. In today’s episode, Judy Ann talks about the unconditional love and sacrifice of her mother for her—how she worked abroad for 20 years to provide for the family, how she would miss the important milestones in their life, how she would buy gifts for the kids even when they were already earning on their own—and how this shaped her to become the woman and mom that she is now. “I really appreciate every bit of sacrifice and love that she gave us. It made us stronger. Mas na-appreciate ko ’yung buhay ko lalo.” Judy Ann also brought this love and sacrifice that she learned from her mother to her everyday life as an artista, as a mother, and as a philanthropist. Dimples Romana grew up in a very prayerful family, and was raised by parents who had absolute faith and trust in the Lord. And when her father lost early to aneurysm, just four years after her sister died of leukemia, her eyes were opened even more to the goodness and providence of the Lord. “When Papa passed on, I asked the Lord, ‘Did you not think that I deserve a complete family?’ But then, I would remember my Papa’s words: ‘Be a moth and go towards the light.
