Antsy to Gancy - A Board Game Podcast

64 - The Plaguecast (featuring Stellar and Subastral)

Ep. 64

Sharon and Jaina finally succumbed to the plague known as Covid-19 (apologies for the lack of episode last week!). In their questionable wisdom as they recover, they decided to present to you their gaming strategy for getting through the plague.

Listen in to find out what games they played, what games they'd recommend playing while you're sick, and how to set up a perfectly cozy gaming nest for when you want to play, but need to be horizontal.

Also, to make up for the lack of episode last week, the JASCES included a bonus comparison of Stellar and Subastral, two games that deserve more attention!

  • 75. 75 - JASCES in Space

    43:28
In today's episode, Jaina and Sharon pilot you through three space themed games, returning to their roots and exploring how these multiplayer games work at two players. Well, one is a 2P only game, but that's beside the point.Additionally, there's an important podcast update! The podcast will be changing names over the next couple of weeks, becoming "Antsy to Gancy" (Jaina can't handle spelling JASCES anymore), and will also be moving to a biweekly format. So tune in two weeks (July 21) for the next episode!(00:41) - Introduction and Update(4:15) - The Search for Planet X(17:29) - Dune: Imperium(30:55) - Star Wars: The Deckbuilding GameFind us on:Instagram: @antsytogancy (https://www.instagram.com/antsytogancy/)Discord: https://discord.gg/SVMSkw9zpRBGG Guild 3986: https://boardgamegeek.com/guild/3986Email: antsytogancy@gmail.comIntro and Outro Music: Robot Gypsy Jazz by John Bartmann (http://johnbartmann.com)

  • 72. 72 - Replacing Games

    31:44
Join Sharon and Jaina in this imaginary world where, when they acquire a new game it has to *gasp* replace a game that's currently in their collection. The horror! Jaina and Sharon each pick three games that they enjoy that is not yet in their collection, and then choose which game would get kicked out to make space for the new one. But don't worry, this episode is not just about the games in their collection that they like the least. Both hosts made tough choices with games that share some similarity with the newcomers and would not otherwise be leaving the collection. That said, we all know that in reality Sharon and Jaina will just buy a new shelf when the time comes!Timestamps:(1:08) Introduction(3:43) 5-Minute Dungeon(4:54) Magic Maze(8:22) Dune: Imperium(10:17) Terraforming Mars(12:04) The Red Cathedral(12:32) Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar(16:03) Next Station: London(16:27) Kokoro: Avenue of the Kodama(18:28) Final Girl(20:06) Gloomhaven(24:15) Art Decko(26:03) Rococco(26:34) The Gallerist(28:28) The Great Split and Tussie MussieFind us on:Instagram: @antsytogancy (https://www.instagram.com/antsytogancy/)Discord: https://discord.gg/SVMSkw9zpRBGG Guild 3986: https://boardgamegeek.com/guild/3986Email: antsytogancy@gmail.comIntro and Outro Music: Robot Gypsy Jazz by John Bartmann (http://johnbartmann.com)
