  • 114. SOLO: Are Gen Z More Misogynistic Than Boomers??

    01:13:23||Season 8, Ep. 114
    Is misogyny really that bad? Well, yes, obviously! But now it's not just us screaming into the void. A new study from Melbourne University details the findings of research into the link between misogyny and youth radicalisation in Australia. Abbie has printed it out, gone through with the highlighter, and is here to distill it all to you chooks! The study features some great definitions of what misogyny actually is, plus some shocking stats on the growing generational divides in misogynistic beliefs. Side tangents include how personalised feeds have fucked up how we relate, and a lil meds reminder!! • 112. JENNIFER ROBINSON: How Defamation Laws Silence Women

    52:41||Season 8, Ep. 112
    Defamation laws have a long and strange history, and in recent years, these laws have been leveraged in order to silence women who attempt to speak out about abuse. In the midst of the cultural reckoning incited by the #MeToo movement, many women across the globe are facing a legal reckoning. This is the central point of the new documentary Silenced. The documentary's main subject is Jennifer Robinson, a human rights lawyer who represented Amber Heard during her testimony in the libel case brought by Johnny Depp against The Sun newspaper. Jennifer and Abbie discuss how defamation is weaponised, what responsibility the media has to prevent violence against women, and Abbie's personal regret in the way she engaged with the media circus around Amber Heard's legal battles.LINKSFind a screening of Silenced near you: https://www.silenced-film.com/where-to-watchFollow Jen on Instagram: @suigenerisjenBuy Jen's book How Many More WomenSend us your thoughts, topic suggestions, NMFs and more: https://forms.gle/S5Pf327SmVnnC8CE9Check out @itsalotpod on IG at https://bit.ly/itsalot-instagram.Review the podcast on Apple Podcasts https://bit.ly/ial-reviewCREDITSHost: Abbie Chatfield @abbiechatfieldGuest: Jennifer Robinson @suigenerisjenExecutive Producer and Editor: Amy Kimball @amy.kimballIt's A Lot Social Media Manager: Julia ToomeySocial Media and Marketing Strategist: Elizabeth Baxter

  • Are Stunt Creators Bad For OnlyFans? Ft. Annie Knight & Chloe Mira

    58:06||Season 8
    Where's the line between engagement and exploitation? So-called 'stunt creators' on OnlyFans have stirred up a lot of controversy in the last few years, with some creators targeting teenagers at Schoolies, or attempting to break records for having sex with the most people. These stunts have led to rule changes on the platform, and debate within the sex work community and more broadly about their impact. Abbie has a lot of thoughts about 'stunt creators' but needs to hear more... So, the stars of Turned On: Dirty Sexy Money Annie Knight and Chloe Mira are here to share their perspectives.LINKSFollow Annie Knight on IG @anniekknightFollow Chloe Mira on IG @chloemiraaWatch Turned On: Dirty Sexy Money only on StanSend us your thoughts, topic suggestions, NMFs and more: https://forms.gle/S5Pf327SmVnnC8CE9Check out @itsalotpod on IG at https://bit.ly/itsalot-instagram .Review the podcast on Apple Podcasts https://bit.ly/ial-reviewCREDITS Host: Abbie Chatfield @abbiechatfieldGuests: Annie Knight @anniekknight & Chloe Mira @chloemiraaExecutive Producer and Editor: Amy Kimball @amy.kimballIt's A Lot Social Media Manager: Julia ToomeySocial Media and Marketing Strategist: Elizabeth Baxter
