God Has Spoken

In this episode we continue talking about some conversion stories found in the book of Acts. In chapters 10-11 we are introduced to a Gentile man named Cornelius who feared God and sought to know him. When the apostle Peter was sent to preach to him, it started a change in the Lord’s church that made it evident that all men, including Gentiles, are welcome to enter the body of Christ. What does this message of salvation mean for me?

In this episode we are looking at the conversion story of the Apostle Paul, who was formerly known as “Saul”. While on the road to Damascus this former persecutor of God’s church encounters Jesus and his life is changed forever. Throughout the book of Acts his story is told a total of 3 times, and reveals to us what we must also do if we want to be saved.

While the children of Israel are exiled in Babylon, Ezekiel is called by God to go and preach to his fellow man and is informed that they will not want to listen to what he has to say. Why would God send someone to people who refuse to hear? And what does God expect of me and my preaching today?

We often don’t like to think of ourselves as a fool, but the Proverbs in the Bible expose us in many areas of our life. What can I do to be more wise, and less like a fool in day to day life?

Will we choose to listen to him and follow what he says, or will we be like a fool who hears him, but disregards everything he has said? How can I be better about following through with the teachings of Jesus even when they are hard to apply? And do I marvel at Jesus’ teaching the way that I am supposed to?

In order to be a part of Jesus’ kingdom, there are certain qualities a person ought to be striving for. How can I begin to emulate these characteristics in my day to day life?

In this episode we are in the book of Ezra, specifically chapters 7-8. In this part of Israel’s history they are working to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, and at every turn Ezra recognizes how much God’s hand has been on them. How good are we about acknowledging when God’s hand has been with us, but not only that, giving him the glory he deserves when he does intervene in our lives?
