Aimée Fisher is In The Frame!

After graduating from ArtsEd, Aimée made her professional debut as cover Fantine in the West End production of Les Misérables (Sondheim Theatre).

She went on to understudy Elphaba in Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre), Jenna/Dawn in Waitress (UK & Ireland Tour) and Jovie in Elf (Dominion Theatre). Aimée also played Joelle and understudied Rita in the London revival of Groundhog Day (Old Vic).

In this episode, Aimée discusses her path into the industry, understudying some of the most iconic roles in musical theatre and she speaks candidely about navigating periods of time without performing work... and there's lots more along the way.

    Emile Ruddock is playing Roland in the premiere of A Knight's Tale The Musical.Based on the 2001 film written and directed by Brian Helgeland which starred Heath Ledger and Paul Bettany, A Knight's Tale is running in Manchester at the Opera House. The show is adapted for the stage by Irish comedy writer and actor Brona C Titley, directed by Rachel Kavanaugh and choreographed by Matt Cole. Emile had a five year run in the West End production of Hamilton, starring as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison (Victoria Palace Theatre).     Tony and Olivier nominees Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss are In The Frame!Toby and Lucy are the writers and creators of Six The Musical, and Lucy is also the show’s co-director. From this Sunday 6th April a special filmed version of Six, with the original West End queens, is being screened in UK cinemas. Six premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017 and went on to begin its West End reign in 2019. Six is also running on Broadway whilst touring both the UK and US and playing internationally.Six The Musical LIVE was made in 2022 when the original West End cast reunited for some performances at Hampton Court Palace prior to filming the show in the West End at the Vaudeville Theatre.Toby and Lucy’s second musical Why Am I So Single? premiered last year in the West End and has just released its cast album featuring a very special feature from Patti LuPone. Based on Shannon Hale’s 2007 novel, which was adapted into a film in 2013, Austenland is being staged in concert at the Savoy Theatre for two performances on Monday 24th March. The show has book by Jodi Picoult and Timothy Allen McDonald with music and lyrics by Kate Anderson and Elyssa Samsel. The concert production is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle with choreography by Joanna Goodwin.Laura played Dawn in the original West End cast of Waitress (Adelphi Theatre) and Adele in the premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella (Gillian Lynne Theatre).     Wendi Peters is starring as Florence Foster Jenkins in the revival of Glorious! at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.Glorious! was nominated for Best New Comedy at the 2006 Olivier Awards and tells the true story of American socialite Florence Foster Jenkins, dubbed ‘the worst singer in the world’, who was known for her flamboyant costumes, enigmatic performances and decidedly off-key voice. The revival is directed by Kirk Jameson. Wendi is an icon of stage and screen. Most recently she played Mother Superior in the UK tour of Sister Act. Just a few of her other theatre credits include Big The Musical, White Christmas, Oh What A Lovely War and many more. Wendi received huge acclaim for creating the role of Diana in the UK premiere of You Are Here at Southwark Playhouse, with her performance featuring in West End Frame's Top 5 Performances of 2021. On screen Wendy is beloved for her iconic performance as Cilla Battersby-Brown in Coronation Street (ITV), a role she played from 2003 to 2007 and again in 2014. Wedi has worked extensively on screen, most recently she played Nina Bulsara for a year in Doctors (BBC).
