In the House today is our special guest Brad Whitlock from CurlVegas and he has a real special announcement for us (2:51). On What’s Happening Around the Curling World? The World Mixed Doubles Championship concluded in Ostersund, Sweden and we will give you all the results. The World Seniors Championships also concluded in and we review who the winners were there. The hockey world was saddened this week with the passing of legendary announcer Bob Cole….But what not many people know is Cole also had a tie to curling (16:04).  On Hot Rocks Topics, we look at a couple of emails (26:55). And on What are You Hearing? We are hearing that many people were upset because there wasn’t a linear television presence of the world mixed doubles championship last week, Is mixed doubles getting the respect that it should as an Olympic Sport (31:50)?

In this coming seasonwe will have clips, segments and some interviews onYou Tube.Here is what is on the show today’s show…What’s Happening Around the Curling World?World Curling concluded it’s annualCurling Congress in Montreal on September 8 th andWarren was there so we will review what tookplace.A number of smaller spiels have alreadyhappened and this weekend in Cornwall, Ontariothe annual Shorty Jenkins Classic is taking placeinvolving some of the best teams in the world sowe will look in on what is happening there.On September 17th and 18 th aninteresting new event is taking place in Lafayette,Colorado, the Everest North American Curling ClubChampionship….We will review what is takingplace there. An interesting playoff took place thispast week in Sweden involving Anna Hasselborgand Isabella Wrana….We will review whathappened. During our summer show we talkedabout the Governor General’s Curling and it heldits 150 anniversary gathering in Ottawa,September 8 – 12…We announced the Showdown at theSaville on our show in August and we will bringyou up-to-date on what is happening with theShowdown.Hot Rocks Topics, During the World Curling meetings someinteresting discussions were brought up regardingrules enforcement by some retired athletes andcoaches who were present….you will be surprisedat what they had to say….The issue of 8 ends versus 10 wasn’t on theagenda...wasn’t even discussed…what wouldbe the reason for that?In The House, Brad Jacobs is now the skip of the oldBrendan Bottcher team and Brad will be with us totalk about the up coming season.Mailbag, Even though it is summer we aregetting emails and we will review one.What Are You Hearing, Brianne Harris, lead on team Einarsonwas suspended from all competition at the end ofFebruary because of a banned substance detected in asample taken on January 24 th . A-B sample was takenin early March and the substance Ligandrol wasdetected again. Harris has been suspended since butthis week on Face Book a posting was made bringingeveryone up to speed on the situation - we will take alook at it.     Inside Curling has made a move into the curling event business with the announcement inJuly of four new events at the Saville Centre inEdmonton that will be known as the ShowDownat the Saville. The events will happen betweenApril 23 rd and May 11 th . We will dig in and reviewexactly what the ShowDown at the Savilleinvolves. The first major event of the season, thePoints Bet Invitational will get underway atCanada Olympic Park (COP) in Calgary onSeptember 25 we will review the field for thatevent. The first Grand Slam of the season, theHearing Life Challenge will start on October 1 st inCharlottetown hasn’t been a lot of news out ofthe Grand Slam so we will review what is or isn’thappening there. Kevin’s Curling Academy has had a busysummer and we will take a look at what’shappening with the Academy.
