  • Ep 245 - Roy's The Boy

    53:12|
Kevin and PJ are riding high from the response to their Sky ad with Roy Keane this week; the family group chats have never been busier and the mams have never been prouder! Speaking of sports, they’re obsessed with the new Cork City Pride jerseys and how impactful they’ll be for queer people in sports.Inspired by their recent episode about intelligence, the lads are talking all about moments of stupidity. The listeners have sent in stories of the stupidest thing they’ve ever done or thought, and girlies… ye didn’t disappoint! From fruit towns with fruit people to real-life black markets, the lads are absolutely howling at some of the blonde moments confessed this week.
  • Ep 244 - It’s a DINK Life for Me

    53:55|
Kevin is singing the praises of home makeover TV shows to a skeptical PJ this week, and the lads are inspired to think about their dream homes as kids (and adults, to be honest): secret doors and beds shaped like cars, anyone?Speaking of kids, that’s the theme for this week: the boys are unpacking how attitudes to having kids have changed, why the right wingers are obsessed with making women have babies, and wondering who on earth is having sex with Elon Musk? They’re also unpacking whether they want kids themselves, or if the DINK/SINK life is just too appealing.Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I’m Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨Hosted on Acast. • Ep 243 - Are We Funny or Are We From Cork?

    51:12|
Sickness has hit I’m Grand Mam towers this week, after a run of Irish tour dates and a busy period for the lads. Kevin is gearing up for this birthday, and the boys are addressing the allegations that their Cork accents are all for show; you got them, gals! The theme for this week is intelligence. As the old adage goes, you can’t judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, so Kevin and PJ are unpacking what it means to be clever. They talk through the different types of intelligence, how street smarts are just as valuable as Leaving Cert results and how being funny is the smartest thing you can be.
  • Ep 242 - Piggies Out For The Boys

    48:25|
Another busy week for the lads as they’ve been filming a top secret project and continuing the Irish leg of the tour. Kevin’s been crying (beautifully), PJ found his missing necklace with the help of Nuala and St. Anthony, and the PTs have been blowing up the DMs. This week the theme is child stars, and PJ and Kevin are counting their lucky stars that they didn’t make it in showbiz as children. From Shirley Temple to Judy Garland to the Disney and Nickelodeon kids, child stardom isn’t all it’s cracked up to be; in fact, it seems to be downright dangerous.
  • Ep 241 - Stop Tonguing Your Dog

    48:12|
‘Tis all go, girlies! The lads have been busy with touring, work commitments and buzzing social lives: so busy that Kevin has had to colour-code his Google cal. PJ was at his nephew’s confirmation this week, and was shocked to discover that kids aren’t getting slapped by the bishops as part of the ceremony any more. He’s even more shocked to learn that this was actually never common practice, and concludes that it must have been exclusive to the northside of Cork. This week, the topic is sequels, prequels and remakes. With the Devil Wear’s Prada 2 coming out soon, Kevin and PJ are wondering why every movie that’s released these days seems to be a sequel or a remake of a beloved classic. They talk about the best sequels of all time (Shrek 2, anyone?), movies they’d love to see remade, and pick their favourites from the High School Musical trilogy.
  • Ep 240 - One of the Boys

    54:25|
Kevin’s keen to learn to drive, but with the fuel protests across Ireland this week, he’s not sure how useful it would be. The lads stand with the farmers, obviously, even if it did take PJ 5 hours to get from Cork to Dublin for Jordan’s wedding. Speaking of Jordan’s wedding, we find out more about PJ's antics on the stag, and why the wives and girlfriends at the wedding were fuming with him.The theme for this week is luck; the ‘lucky girl’ aesthetic is all the rage right now, so the lads have been wondering how much of luck is mindset, and whether they believe in lucky traditions and superstitions.
  • Ep 239 - Let PJ Speak

    55:37|
The lads have absolutely had it with April Fool’s Day antics on social media, and think it’s about time we put a stop to it. In better news, this week Kevin’s family have been celebrating his brother’s engagement, which leads them to talk about the general mortification of Irish people doing… well, anything. The theme for this week is teenage discos, and we’re throwing it back to a time laden with the scent of hairspray and Lynx Africa. It might be a rite of passage, but the teenage disco brought with it a whole lot of anxiety and pressure to fit in socially. The boys hear wild submissions from the listeners, covering everything from the best way to sneak vodka into to the disco, and the girlies kissing record numbers of boys in one night.
  • Ep 238 - Miss Me with the Matcha

    51:05|
Kevin is on a crusade against culinary trends this week, and matcha and hot honey on pizza are in the firing line. PJ’s heartbroken that he failed his NCT (mainly because he chickened out of leaving a bribe in the glovebox), even though he’s loving booting around Cork in the car.The speed of the drive from the northside to the southside even inspires the lads to call for unification of the two sides of the river in The Rebel City. The theme for this week is inventions, and the boys are unpacking some of the most influential inventions of all time. They’re also talking about inventions that we thought would take off but didn’t (3D glasses anyone?) and pitching some iconic ideas of their own.
  • Ep 237 - Dunnes Stores Dynasty

    51:55|
The lads are buzzing after their first tour date, despite PJ losing his voice on stage and having had a gang of firemen round his gaff responding to a faulty carbon monoxide alarm. Meanwhile Kevin is lamenting the fact that Carmit has been excluded from the Pussycat Dolls reunion tour, but decides that if Kimberley can get her leg above her head and do her famous tilt, all will be forgiven. For the theme this week, the boys are talking all about family feuds. From the Dunnes Stores saga to the world’s most famous elevator ride, we know that no family is immune to drama. They talk through some of the most common reasons for family fights, hear listener stories and discuss how to mend a rift.
