I Pod a Spell on You

Episode 3: Animals & Safety w/ BLINK Dance Theatre

Season 1, Ep. 3

Welcome to I Pod a Spell On You - Edy Hurst's Wonderfull Discoverie of Witches Podcast, the show where we speak with Disabled and Neurodivergent Artists from across the industry and use magic, spell and best guesses from pre-1700s literature to help solve all their (and our) problems.

This week Edy is joined by Vickin Hawkins and Adam Smith from BLINK Dance Theatre, a Neruodiverse dance group who champion accessibility in their perfornance, facilitation of workshops and training. The video chat looks at how to build accessibility in for both the creative team and audiences, as well as what it means to collaborate and work with others.

Edy provides two spells to Vicki and Adam, one to draw comfort from animals, and another to feel safe and comfortable when out in the world, leading him to call a garden centre to double check the plant he bought is old enough. Will it have charged up with spirit power to an appropriate level for charming creatives of that are either lifestock or pets? And will he finally discover the one true definitive secret to unlocking collaborative practice? there's only one way to find out!
