Spontaneous plans can be some of the best and in this case they were. Last minute tickets to the Isle of Wight Festival. With this summer of festival heating up and Glastonbury just gone by, I wanted to share with you what I learnt about my return to this popular British holiday resort and island off the South coast of England. It is also host to some of the best and most special festival experiences I think!This is also a special episode as I am joined by my first guest, Kirsty Nugent, a long-term festival goer, talented musician and a girlfriend who will always say it how it is. Summer is here! That means festival season! It is time to dance in a field and let loose with a drink in hand, dressed head to toe in a colourful extroverted outfit while jamming to your favourite music. I am back! And it is a bit awkward. This episode to kick things off again is all about those moments where we try to avoid too much eye contact and, for some, anxiety transfixes us. We end up bundling through the exchange. I am of course talking about first impressions. Listen as I explore how I have got it wrong so many times, got it right sometimes and definitely have no perfect formula for a good first impression.

In my recent special episode on the eve of the Russian invasion just over a month ago I reflected on my dissertation chapter written in 2016 on the condition of Ukraine. I explored how its failing civil-military relationships were a danger to European security and any political cohesion across Eastern Europe. And while I considered this situation provocative towards Russia I now see assumptions were made and ultimately I was wrong in my approach. In this episode I reassess my angle of approach and look back at my assumptions on how we view Russia and modern conflict both back in 2016 and more recently in February during my previous special episode.I also try to breakdown some of the positives we can take from the past month. The faint silver lining we can cherish amongst all the tragedy that we are so sadly watching each day in this war of ours.

We all love the sky at night illuminated by stars, planets and the occasional blinking dot of a plane. However there is so much we cannot see that is much closer than we think and in fact, man-made. Satellite and rocket launches are at an all time high with the private sector such as SpaceX taking the mantle from NASA and government departments around the world. This episode I briefly explore the growing concern across the space industry, Space Junk.

Ventures into the unknown and curiosity of what is out of reach. Humankind cannot help themselves but explore. There is nothing further away and beyond our grasp than interstellar space. In this episode I learn about the heroic journeys of Voyager 1 & 2 as well as what our Solar System might look like in the future and what is just outside our planetary neighbourhood.

The final frontier, an epic journey and incredible human accomplishments in science, engineering and mathematics! This episode I learn more about Pluto, a dwarf planet billions of miles away that we knew little about up until recently.
