Slipmatt is a hero of the hardcore scene and is quite rightly known as the Godfather Of Rave. Fascinated with playing vinyl on his parents’ record player before he could even walk, the young Matt Nelson quickly developed a thirst for soul music that lead him to start buying imported records at an extremely young age. Inspired by a DJ in a local Essex nightclub, Slipmatt was perfectly placed for the rave explosion that soon followed and played at every legendary event that took place during that time. Also having enjoyed chart success as one half of SL2 as well as helping run a pirate radio station back in the day, Slipmatt’s story is a fascinating journey through the scene that brings us right up to now where he still rocks dancefloors with his unmatched technical ability behind the decks.

Getting his big break early on in his DJ career, a teenage Joeski schooled himself by regularly playing at legendary New York venues such as the Limelight and he also held down his first residency at the 'Together' parties that were hosted at the iconic Roxy. Her discovery of House Music in her late teens gave her a purpose to hit the dancefloor and, whilst promoting events at a local club in her native Essex, she realised that she could turn her talents to DJ-ing as well. Setting her sights on a career at Defected, Katie put in the hours and made her dream a reality within a few short years.
