Coming up on the final episode of series 7 in the House of Cars podcast The BBC have officially confirmed that it will be bringing Top Gear back to screens.Following previous reports earlier this year that the BBC were eyeing up a reboot of Top Gear, The Sun newspaper now reports that comedian Jimmy Carr is set to be the lead presenter.The Grand Tour roars back with celebrated trainspotter and secret petrolhead Francis Bourgeois, alongside James Engelsman and Thomas Holland, the acclaimed creators of the YouTube phenomenon Throttle House, behind the wheel.There will be a new face in the upcoming 28th season of Law & Order: SVU. Succession alumna J. Smith-Cameron has been tapped for a recurring role. She will play jury consultant Gwen Sharpe opposite Mariska Hargitay‘s Olivia Benson.Smith-Cameron’s character will be introduced in the season 28 premiere on Thursday, Oct 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.ITV is reportedly in talks with production company Fremantle to revive iconic music competition The X Factor after seven years off screen. ITV and Fremantle declined to comment.The X Factor ran from 2004 until 2019 before being dropped after its celebrity and band spin-offs and launched the careers of acts such as One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murs and Rylan Clark.A source told The Sun newspaper: "They can explore a younger, fresher panel, with new faces and have Cowell behind the scenes. The plan is for the show’s return to take on a new life and be updated to envelop social media generation... The X Factor was one of the most iconic shows in TV history and created dozens of stars and household names who are still riding high today. Executives at Talkback Thames have had discussions with ITV chiefs about a comeback and they are super-keen for it."Meanwhile, earlier this year Sky announced it has commissioned a new documentary exploring the highs - and lows - of ITV entertainment juggernaut The X Factor.Anne Hathaway will star opposite Tom Cruise in the next chapter of “Days of Thunder,” Variety has learned exclusively.Paramount Pictures has dated the feature film sequel for June 2, 2028, when Cruise and Hathaway will hit the road almost 40 years after the original Tony Scott film was released. The project will be shot for IMAX screens, and released exclusively in theaters for formats including Dolby Cinema and 4DX.
