WHAT DO WE DISCUSS?

  • Well, it’s fair to say that most football fans weren’t expecting the news to drop this week that Manchester City are facing charges related to Financial Fair Play; what did Amos make of the news when it broke and how could this impact the football club going forward?
  • It feels pretty strange for the Premier League’s top goal scorer to be under the microscope, but is there any truth within the latest media speculation, which is questioning whether or not Erling Haaland is holding the Cityzens back?
  • Does Amos believe that Manchester City can catch Arsenal in the title race?
  • What are Amos’ thoughts on Aston Villa’s season and the job that Unai Emery has done thus far?
  • The lads look ahead to Sunday’s match; could we have an upset on our hands?
  • All of this and so much more! Enjoy the podcast and Up The Villa!

MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 ASTON VILLA: Lindelof the line!

Ep. 433
Our Cole and Seb sat down to reflect on a frustrating day at the office for Unai Emery’s men as Aston Villa lose their first match in 11 games at the hands of Manchester United at Old Trafford. You can listen for FREE on Acast, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify - dig in!WHAT DO WE DISCUSS?Well, after a run of 10 matches unbeaten, Aston Villa were bound to lose again at some point, so we can’t be too disheartened, right?Villa fail to score for the first time in the Premier League with Unai Emery as the gaffer; had the opportunities on Sunday to do so, but was it a case of luck not being on our side or a lack of quality on the day?Are Unai Emery’s men running out of gas as the season nears its end?Is it fair to also say that the injury list and the lack of quality squad depth is a major factor in the last few performances (yes, we drew against Brentford and beat Fulham, but they weren’t the most energetic/pleasing performances, so go easy on me here)?A top 8 finish is a great accomplishment for the Villa given where we were when Unai Emery took over, but is the hunt for 5th place still a real possibility?Wolves on Saturday! Are the lads confident that Villa will get back to winning ways? All of this and so much more! You can listen for FREE on Acast, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify - dig in!WHAT DO WE DISCUSS?It wasn’t the most impressive of performances against Fulham, but a win is a win and Aston Villa now sit 5th place in the Premier League table — we have to be happy with that, surely? Is finishing in the top 8 enough of an accomplishment or should we be expecting/hoping for more prior to the end of the season?Villa have scored in all 20 matches that Unai Emery has been in charge of — how impressive is that record and will it be topped against Manchester United on Sunday? How are the lads feeling about the match against United? With Villa’s form as of late, is there any reason to think that Unai Emery’s men won’t be highly competitive against any side they face?5 matches left and still plenty to play for!
