EP 02 – Bronagh Conlon of Listoke Distillery & Gin School and Nigel Woods of Amstrow

Season 1, Ep. 2

Our guest speaker for the second episode is Bronagh Conlon, the co-founder and MD of Listoke Distillery and Gin School, located in Drogheda, Ireland. Since the launch in 2016, Bronagh proved to be one of the most innovative distillery owners in Ireland: she launched the first Gin School in the country, started selling (and giving away) hand sanitisers to organisations in need the day before the actual pandemic was announced in Ireland! And last but not least, Listoke was the first distillery to offer 5% of company shares up for grabs in a public raffle. In this episode she reveals where she plans to export Listoke products, what the newly released gin flavour is, the secret ingredient to the famous gin, and of course - the five tips for for growing a business!

In our ‘Meet The Miller’ section, Colm speaks to Nigel Woods of “Amstrow” – an Aviation Corporate Services provider. Nigel has been a resident in The Mill for a little over 3 years now, in this episode he shares his experience on managing the transition from being an employee of a big corporation to starting up a business on his own, as well as revealing some of the biggest challenges and surprises he encountered on the way. Nigel highlights the importance of having a wide network of contacts as the key element of growing a business. Listen to the end to find out his top tips for taking the plunge into the world of entrepreneurship and keeping your business afloat.
