If you know where to look there are some clues to a reality that existed when you could get on a rail car and travel all the way to Grimsby and Winona for a fraction of a dollar.

With cars zooming by at 80km/h you wouldn’t think anything about a patch of woods with a creek running through it and certainly not about a a rail line that took people from Hamilton to Dundas efficiently. But the clues are there.

Some times more survives than you think. Whether it’s good architecture or just repurposing , it’s good someone saw fit to save a station.

Grand Trunk Railway was just the precursor to a rock band from the 70’s. It leaves behind a number of clues to its existence in downtown Hamilton and beyond.
