Grave Secrets

Episode 9 - Today’s episode discusses the horrific murders of the Cowden Family. This case took place just a couple of years prior to The Pottery Cottage Murders, which we covered in episode 5. This case took place in September of 1974 and remains unsolved. The case discusses the events which unfolded over Labor Day weekend in 1974, when a family of four left for a camping trip and disappeared into thin air...

In this episode, Beth & Annie introduce another new segment!! This segment is called 'Discussing the Evidence' and in this episode the pair discuss eye witness testimony as form of evidence, its reliability, cases which have used eye witness statements as one of the key pieces of evidence at trial and the statistics behind the exhibits. The duo already have some different types of evidence they'd like to cover in this segment, but feel free to comment if there's something specific you'd like them to discuss in a future episode. 

In this episode, Annie & Beth talk through the discovery of John Wainright’s body and how the police officers and forensic scientists worked incredibly hard to give John the respect and justice he deserved. In this episode, Annie & Beth talk through the harrowing events of Pottery Cottage Murders, where the Minton/Moran family were targeted due to nothing but the location of their home and resulted in four of the family members being brutally killed. The family were held hostage for a harrowing 55 hours, between the 12th and 14th of January. The family home was in the small village of Eastmoor, Chesterfield. The case will be centred around the victims, shedding light on their lives and ensuring they are remembered.
