Griffith Park With Pepe

April 20th, 2023

Season 1, Ep. 8

My last episode suffered from the mic rubbing my t shirt in the most irritating way. The recording was useless. Hopefully this one's better. It was lovely out and Pepe and I enjoyed the new sensation of being warm.

It's getting warmer. The flowers, bees and birds were out in all their glory. Pepe ate some dog salad and I talked some bollocks.

I'm back. Had a few technical gremlins to sort out. Also, some weird work stuff that meant it was difficult to find the time to upload. I'll get back into a rhythm now. It was cloudy and chilly this morning. Pepe nearly got a squirrel. Or so he thought. He was, in reality, a long way off. Still it's the hope that keeps us going.

Been a few days. Thje rain has been heavy and so has my workload. Today four large military VTOL helicopters flew over the park accompanied by two normal helicopters. I took a photo which arsed up my recodrding so there may be a few breaks and jump cuts. Then when I arrived home two jet fighters flew overhead. There was also a lot of the normal wildlife - birs, squirrels and, a first for the year, a lizard. Pepe tried eat it but was thankfully too slow.

A shorter walk this morning. We were serenaded by someone playing their clarinet at one stage.

Bit of a short walk this morning. It was raining. Nevertheless, we encountered some squirrels and reveled in nature before breakfast.

This morning was chilly. I had to run a few times to warm up and make the pedestrian crossing timer. We didn't see a single soul for the first 30 minutes. Pepe nearly caught a squirrel, but they're too fast for him. They tease and get our of reach just in time. That's why he keeps trying - maybe this time!

I walk my dog, Pepe, in Griffith Park. Come join as I puff up the hill and back down. You'll hear the sounds of Los Feliz, me breathing heavily, Pepe chasing chipmunks and squirrels, interactions with fellow walkers, traffic and birds. I find the walk so restorative and beneficial for my health that I want to share it with others. I used to just send the audio files to my mum who has dementia. She liked them. Now I'm going pop them up here for everyone to enjoy. If you like this kind of thing. Apologies for the occasional profanity.
