WBC Latin Silver Belt champion - Tyrone “El Bombero” Buttigieg made history this weekend by beating Venezuela’s Ernesto Martinez in San Roque. In his first-ever ten-round match, Tyrone’s grit and skill saw him win by unanimous decision. Tyrone brought his belt to Broadcasting House and spoke of his hopes for the future.


Jose Mari Ruiz was a spectator at the fight, but also spoke about the rest of the local sport from the weekend.


Charity work is an essential aspect of society and plays a major role in helping others and raising awareness. The Isola Foundation, in collaboration with Kusuma Trust Gibraltar, are presenting a series of FREE workshops for Gibraltar-registered charities, providing expert advice and guidance on accounting. We spoke to consultant in Business & Charitable Organisations, JJ Pisharello.


Last week, Gib Sams published their annual report, it features a few numbers as well as the charity's mission statement and goals, amongst other things. The charity’s CEO Brenda Cuby broke down the report with us.


And, 10 years ago to the day that local rock band 'Dead City Radio' performed live for the first time. It's been a decade of hard drums, electric guitar and booming vocals provided by frontman James Culatto, who reminisced about the band’s milestone and told us how the band will celebrate the milestone this Saturday.

    The final report on the McGrail Inquiry is likely to be ready by late spring 2025 - roughly a year since the public hearing. In the latest update on the report's progress, the inquiry team says additional evidence has been received, and that Chairman, Sir Peter Openshaw, continues to work on the draft. Meanwhile the Police Authority has started the process of recruiting a new Commissioner of Police to take over from Richard Ullger when he retires in April 2025. Christina Cortes brought us the details.It's International Men’s Day, providing an opportunity to promote discussions and actions that support men's physical and mental health, both to encourage positive role models, and to advocate for a more inclusive society. GP Dr Karl Alvarez and MJ Feeke of the Federation of Small Businesses told us about an event planned to promote a health-focused event exploring men's physical and mental wellbeing.Gibraltar is out of the UEFA Nations League, with San Marino’s win over Lietchenstein last night, knocking our squad from the top of the group. Our reporter Jose Mari Ruiz watched the game and gave us his thoughts, and also looked ahead to the international friendly against Moldova at Europa Point Stadium this evening. And, since 1973 Swami Divyananda has been travelling the world teaching Integral Yoga. She took monastic vows in 1975 from the great saint and yogi, Sri Swami Satchidananda.     The planned eviction and relocation of residents of the hostel at the Queen's Hotel site has been paused. This follows protests with residents concerned about the conditions they would be expected to live in at the Sunrise Motel. Our reporter Shelina Assomul spoke to Minister for Housing Pat Orfila.Gibraltar drew 1 all against San Marino in their last Nations League game. Gibraltar remains top of the group for now, but there's one more match to be played. The squad meanwhile will bring an end to their international window with a friendly match against Moldova that's tomorrow at 6 at Europa Point. Jose Mari Ruiz spoke to defender Bernardo Lopes as well as head coach Julio Ribas.After a 4-year break the Careers Fair returns next Thursday at the Bayside Sports Complex. The event hopes to unlock potential, build connections, and explore the possibilities that will shape the careers of tomorrow. The World Health Organization and the International Diabetes Federation organise the event, which focuses on diabetes prevention, health risks, and managing and living well with condition. Kayron Pozo, Susan Edwards and Robin Sheppard-Capurro told us their experiences of living with the condition.Gibraltar face San Marino tomorrow in the penultimate game of their UEFA Nations League campaign. Gibraltar beat San Marino 1 nil at home last month, Head Coach Julio Ribas says he can only hope for his team to put on their best performance. Our reporter Jose Mari Ruiz is there ahead of the big game.The Convent Christmas Fair is happening next Friday, with 31 stalls offering a variety of stalls, gifts and of course mince pies and mulled wine!
