10 Games People Enjoy That I Loathe

Ep. 69
•

While originally this was going to be the hardest crashing out games I've ever done, it's closer to a full games list of games I tried to force myself to enjoy, or did enjoy until developers/publishers ruined it for everyone. No low hanging fruit on this one like your Veilguards or e-sport shooters. These are all games I bought or was able to play with the intention of loving and then got scarred so deeply, I can recall my disdain in a moments notice. I think if you stopped the episode at the honourable mention, I'd get it. Some people like me are just criminally insane but walk in daylight pretending to be normal.

  • 79. I Tried DLSS5, Watched DLSS5 Demos, And Came Back Hating...

    35:40||Ep. 79
    **I apparently was so inebriated with my verbal discharge and everyone else's DLSS5, I didn't even mention github projects AMD NR project by 3zwr1 which I mentioned in the last episode, or danielblnc's DLSS-NR-on-AMD which is what initially got me into the deep dive search to see if DLSS5 was doing some amazing things. But the 7900XT falls in that tolerable walking simulator zone, I wish these wizards the utmost success and recognition. I also saw someone else's project of reverse engineering DLSS3.8 to run natively on AMD GPUs, definitely keep an eye out Team Red.Not going to spoil the rant, but I talk about 3 points as some forethought on steering the future fundamental acceptance of DLSS5 and generative AI in gaming. This was obviously recorded before I saw bloomberg's breaking news that Epic Games is making a Marvel AND Star Wars character shooter where all developers have been instructed to stop manually making any further code for the game and must be vibe coded, oh my bad, "generated with full AI workflows". I keep wondering how these people pay so much money to use these IPs just to throw it all in the garbage. Trying to comprehend it just gave me a stroke. Please preserve my neanderthal brain for science to study.
  • 78. Witcher 3 Remastered Impressions and More

    28:15||Ep. 78
    I went in looking for an update to the base game to fix some of its shortcomings, and I would say it did an alright job addressing them. I am still bumbling from question mark to question mark, listening to every de-du-dah-daldahdele-du-de-dee-da-de battle theme burned into my brain, and refusing to just advance the main story when there is a box with some gloves hidden in the corner of some out of the way grotto.I think there is enough perpetual hype in the perpetual hype machine to tell you a good game with a great visual overhaul, makes most backlogs tremble. I heard more than a few content creators laugh saying "well, it makes me want to play the game for a #th time!" and to that I can safely say I still think it is a flawed but good game.Looking forward to the DLC.
  • 77. Final Fantasy Resonance Demo

    18:20||Ep. 77
    Octopath sparkle and glisten engine showing unreal engine 4's real potential and efficiency is in 2.5D games. I think for people who have no strong attachment to the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, maybe it's a generic adventure with final fantasy cameos. Still I think it's both a good showing for a revived series that did have some effort put into it's lore, good that the original sound track and what feels like character art has hardly changed. Bad side is they knew they had half the backstory and lore and character models, and then played it safe. In opinion anways.
  • 76. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time

    34:02||Ep. 76
    Very casual, surface level of difficulty kind of game. Easy to pick up, just as easy to drop out of boredom if your don't like the difficulty (or lack of) scaling.
  • 75. Beasts of Reincarnation

    31:51||Ep. 75
    It's not awful, just forgettably bland, shallow, and forgettable. Doesn't matter how beautiful graphic artists make a game look.
  • 74. Summer Catch Up Games

    17:08||Ep. 74
    Here are a few games that I felt better including as a compilation episodes than standalones. Marvel Tokon does feel quite promising aside from the "can't be played offline", those essential servers for sandbox practice mode...Happy Summer Gaming everyone.
  • 73. Mixtape

    14:37||Ep. 73
    Part of me knows there is someone's personal experience buried deep in this art piece of a game. Decided on a style, a motif, every person and object in their place for a reason, and a story to show as much as tell all of that. The other part of me is an opinionated jerk who plays a lot of games though, and that part never shuts up...
  • 72. Forza Horizon 6

    22:14||Ep. 72
    **Just a quick note, this was recorded on the weekend and as of July 6, it has apparently been more explained what is happening to the microsoft owned studios and more than a few are remaining active or buying back their studio so ignore any conflicting info from the speaking jerk**Forza always seems to fill a void of more arcade-y but car enjoyer racing games in my heart that The Crew once occupied. You can get as sim racer as you'd like with their driving assist options and ad-hoc driver difficulty but I always surrender to the zany modes eventually. Though, I feel it does separate the casual players from the truly devoted, being just over a month old and expecting drivers to be max rank and gold wrist banded.
  • 71. Mina The Hollower

    22:12||Ep. 71
    One of the must plays if you like retro games and like when people release games in a polished state. Had a solid experience playing this one, although I think having everything split up and uh... no clear good ending or notion of doing it, adds some saltiness to an otherwise amazing game.
