The imposter syndrome and the importance of being our authentic selves

Ep. 50

Happy Ceasefire Day and Happy Podcast Day! 🎉

  Do we have a responsibility to the world to show up as our selves? What is the price we pay for putting up a show? And what happens when the real in us is exposed?   In today’s episode I explore our responsibility to be authentic, especially when we have a gift or a following. I also look into the imposter syndrome and what the effect this has on us.   My conclusion is that if I am myself with you, I am more safe, more relaxed, less afraid. If I pretend to be bigger or better than I am, I’m at risk all the time. Go listen, From Darkness to light, link in my bio. And I look forward to your feet as always. I love you. 💛 P.S. I’m so happy for the ceasefire. 🇮🇱 🇵🇸  #podcast #fromdarknesstolight #50andfabulous #love

  • 56. How to be a good parent when you are depressed?

    43:41||Ep. 56
    What is a good parent? Is there different demands or expectations on us as parents when we are depressed? In this episode I explore depression both from the child and the parent perspective. Good parenting has a lot of presence, authenticity, honesty and transparency in it as I see it, and I explore ways how to be all that when we are depressed. I think it's time to realize that depression is more common than cancer and what our children have experienced now during the pandemic can actually reduce our fear and stigma around depression. Let's talk about it!
  • 55. The Sustainable and Long Term Solution to Handle Covid

    37:18||Ep. 55
    If the vaccine is the quick fix, what is the long term solution? To live well. Stress and anxiety suppress our immune system, and the best way to fight Covid, or rather, to handle and cope with it, is to strengthen our overall health. A good mental, physical and emotional health makes us less vulnerable, moves us out of risk groups and prepares us for an eventual life crises.   #covid #health #wellness #stress #anxiety #recovery #addiction #sobriety #healing #mentalhealth
  • 54. The Covid Vaccine andOur Freedom to Choose

    46:50||Ep. 54
    DISCLAIMER 1: The sound is not perfect! DISCLAIMER 2: These are my personal standing points In Todays episode I share where I stand in the vaccine mandate situation and what forcing people against their will does to them. Covid is a proof of how trauma, fear, stress and anxiety supresses our immune system, and to violate people when they have a firm NO inside is abuse. If you have a big YES to the vaccine, take it, and respect the ones who has a big NO inside. Don't push their boundaries, as this causes major stress and trauma. Be kind. See the other side. Walk the talk you teach your children. Listen and share with the ones you feel need to listen.
  • 53. Does Separation Decrease our capacity to feel Joy for Life

    37:04||Ep. 53
    In this episode I inquire into our ability to feel joy for life when we lose people we love. For every loss, do we change inside, does something essential become affected, or do we still have the same capability to feel joy for life without these people? Our "normal" assumption is that someone else will come along and we will be happy again, but is that true? Can we feel the same amount of joy for life, to be alive, with separation happening? Join me in my inquiry and comment on my Instagram @shama_persson, I love to hear what you think!

    47:57||Ep. 52
    In this episode I explore the massive attacks I've been under during the last two months on social media and the freedom of speech. I also dive into how we project our own pain onto other people, to avoid looking inside ourselves.
  • 51. Longing and Anxiety - TwoSides of the Coin?

    16:38||Ep. 51
    A very short and intense podcast about longing and anxiety, and how it feels in our body. To me, longing has the same physical quality as anxiety, and I can't really live with it. Longing makes me wanna move! Is this healthy or unhealthy and am I right or am I stumbling in the dark? I'm so open to your feeback, come share with me on Instagram @shama_persson.
  • 49. Turning Ageing into an Advantage

    01:01:40||Ep. 49
    Ageism is as present as racism and sexism, it's time for a change. In my new episode I turn 9 judgements and/or fears about ageing into an advantage, or I at least question their truth. What if the fear of getting old has more to do about the present moment and or level of happiness and self-love today, than of getting old?   The definition of a midlife crises: "Midlife crisis refers to a phase in a middle-aged person's life (usually between the ages of 35 to 65) wherein they feel compelled to face and/or reevaluate their mortality, confidence, identity, and accomplishments."   #ageing #ageism #midlifecrises #podcast #fromdarknesstolight

    50:28||Ep. 48
