A 1979 Caian, Erika Hagelberg who is Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the University of Oslo, shares her experience as a woman scientist: from early career and family life to her pioneering work on the extraction of DNA from ancient bones. She compares notes with Amy Dighe, a PhD student looking at the epidemiology of infectious diseases.
