I’m Emma Lai, and today we’re tackling the cash flow statement, a key component of financial reporting that often doesn’t get as much attention as the income statement or balance sheet. But make no mistake — the cash flow statement is a crucial tool for understanding a company’s financial health. While the income statement shows profitability and the balance sheet provides a snapshot of assets and liabilities, the cash flow statement reveals how cash is actually moving in and out of a company. It answers questions like, “Is the company generating enough cash to fund its operations?” and “How is the company financing its activities?”
