Episode 196: Everyone Gets An Xbox

The absolute madmen have actually done it. This week, Tommy and Ben give their first impressions of their brand new Xbox One S's (no idea if that's the right way to pluralise that, first time I've noticed something a bit weird about the Xbox naming conventions???), while wise old Adam teaches them the ways of the cross (big, green, angled cross to be clear). Game Pass, Ori and the Blind Forest, Outer Wilds, Forza Horizon 4 and more. Are the Filthy boys' days of talking about too much Nintendo behind them? No! But now we all have Xboxes to ignore!

Our newest Bandcamp Premium Episode, The History of Final Fantasy, will be available this weekend over at https://filthycasualspod.bandcamp.com, plus our recent commentary of the 2005 Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson film Doom, is available now along with many other special extended episodes. Head over and check them out!

  • Episode 528: Metroid Prime 4 Beyond Review

    01:20:24|
After eight long years of waiting, it's finally here: Episode 528 of Filthy Casuals. Did I make a similar joke the other week? I can't remember and I'm too busy to check because I've been sinking a lot of time into Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. Does this long-awaited sequel live up to expectations? Are the NPC companions as annoying as the initial reports would have you believe? Is it fun to drive around the desert on a motorbike? We answer all of these questions as well as chatting about the future of Yacht Club Games and thinking about movies that Hideo Kojima could cameo in.🌎Get Exclusive NordVPN deal here ↣ https://nordvpn.com/filthy It’s risk- free with Nord’s 30-day money back guarantee! 👍Get an exclusive 15% discount on Saily data plans! • Episode 526: Kirby Air Riders Review, The Game Awards Nominees

    01:24:56|
The nominees are out for the second most prestigious awards in gaming (behind The Filthy Casuals End of Year list): The Game Awards. We go through the nominees in the major categories before HOOVERING up a game that SHOULD be nominated in every single category: the excellent racing / fighting game hybrid Kirby Air Riders.
  • Episode 525: The Seance of Blake Manor, Steam Machine, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer

    01:11:36|
This week we're once again paying a visit to Ben's Dev Corner to hear another report on how his game is progressing. Who knows, it may even be eventually playable on the Steam Machine, Valve's new hardware which just got announced this week. We discuss the pros and cons and where we see this machine sitting in the console landscape. PLUS there's a trailer for the new Mario Galaxy Movie with some incredibly left field casting, some leaked Zelda movie on set footage, and we're reviewing The Seance of Blake Manor and The Simpsons Hit & Run!
  • Episode 524: Hyrule Warriors - Age of Imprisonment, GTA6 Delay

    01:17:29|
We're dropping this episode ON TIME in order to let you know that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed. What can we possibly do to fill ONE ENTIRE YEAR until it's released? Well, off the top of my head: we could play a bit of Simpsons Fortnite, we could try the demo for Dogpile, we could review the new Tears of the Kingdom prequel Hyrule Warriors - Age of Imprisonment, and then we could record a podcast about all of those things... That should take us 365 days or so, right?
