FILMS I OWN BUT HAVEN'T WATCHED (YET)

John Carpenter's THE FOG (1980)

A classic John Carpenter horror film is drawn from the pot of film titles that I Own But Haven't Watched (Yet). I must admit, I haven't watched a lot of John Carpenter films, so was interested to see what this was all about.

Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, as well as her real life mother, the original scream queen Janet Lee (Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho), Tom Atkins, and Hal Holbrrok, John Carpenter's The Fog tells the story of small seaside town Antonio Bay, who as they prepare for their centennial celebrations, are swept up in a strange fog which brings with it an army of death and destruction, ghostly pirates seeking retribution for the towns murderous past.

  • THE 'BURBS (1989)

    11:07
This weeks Film That I Own That I Haven't Watched (Yet) is one that i have watched before, in all honesty, but it was such a long time ago that I had basically forgotten it entirely and so it has found its way into my box of titles. From 1989 its Joe Dante's comedy The 'Burbs starring Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Rick Ducommun, Carrie Fisher and Corey Feldman. It tells the hilarious yet farcical story of Ray Peterson (Hanks in another of his earlier comedic roles) who's staycation is ruined when he and his two neighbours (Dern and Ducommun) become obsessed with the creepy antics of the newest arrivals to the streets, the Klopeks. This movie fell in between Dante's 2 successful Gremlins movies, but is presented in his usual whacky vision, with great comedic performances all around. But, what does Trev make of this movie? Listen now to hear his initial views and thoughts on The 'Burbs!Watch or own your very own copy of The 'Burbs here - https://amzn.to/3Xq8CAQFilms I Own But Haven't Watched Yet is a spin off podcast from Trev, the creator and co-presenter of WN MOVIE TALK PODCAST (formally known as We Need To Talk About Movies Podcast) and is a short movie review podcast in which Trev goes through his DVD and Bluray collection and views some of the titles that he hasn't got around to watching yet, and gives his initial response to the movie straight after the viewing.
